Fiber optic fusion splicing is a delicate operation that requires the use of tools such as stripper, cleaver, fusion splicer, heat shrink sleeve and alcohol cleaning paper. The correct use of these tools is crucial to the success of welding. Fiber Splicing requires the aid of a series of professional tools to be completed.
Preparation:
This includes steps such as cutting fiber cable and stripping the outer sheath and metal protective layer, etc., to ensure that fiber is in good condition before splicing. First of all, we need to strip the reinforcing steel wire on the fiber. This step requires stripping approximately one meter of steel wire. Then, the optical fibers with the reinforcing steel wires removed need to be cut to ensure that the cross-section of the optical fibers is flat and flawless, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent splicing work.
The specific steps of fiber splicing:
1.Cleaving fibers is a key step that determines the splicing effect. During the cleaving process, it is necessary to ensure that the cross-section of the optical fiber is flat and free of defects.
2.Continue to carry out necessary preparatory processing on the fibers to ensure that they are suitable for splicing. This includes stripping the outer skin of the optical fiber, putting on a heat shrinkable sleeve for the fiber, and cleaning the fiber with a paper towel soaked in alcohol.
3.After cleaning the fiber, it is necessary to moderately cleave the fiber and place it on one side of fusion splicer to prepare for the subsequent fusion process. Through these steps, the stability and reliability of the fiber connection can be ensured.
4.Place the cleaved fibers on the fusion splicer for fusion splicing, and ensure that the two fibers are as aligned as possible. Finally, start the fiber fusion process.
5.After completing the subsequent sorting and fixation work of the fusion splicing process, including tightening the fusion splicing points of the heat shrink tubes, properly placing the optical fibers into the optical fiber distribution frame, and performing fiber skipping operations for equipment use. After these steps, the entire fiber splicing process is perfected.
